Hastings College

Hastings College is a private, undergraduate, four-year, residential liberal arts college in Hastings, Nebraska, USA. The college was founded in 1882 by a group of men and women seeking to establish a Presbyterian college dedicated to high academic and cultural standards. Hastings College has been accredited by the Higher Learning Commission's North Central Association of Colleges and Schools since 1916. The Hastings College campus consists of 40 buildings on 109 acres (0.44 km). The college's first building is McCormick Hall, constructed in 1883 and still in use today. More recent additions include the Osborne Family Sports Complex/Fleharty Educational Center, built in 2002; the Bronco Village student apartments {2005}; and the Morrison-Reeves Science Center, opened in late 2009. Hastings College is included in U.S. News & World Report, America's Best Colleges 2010 and was named a 2010 "'Best College in the Midwestern Region" by Princeton Review. HC was also listed by Kaplan/Newsweek as one of "America's 369 Most Interesting Schools" and recognized as the top liberal arts college in Nebraska by The Washington Monthly magazine.

  • Maria Ly is quite literally a Rock Star. You’ll often find her hanging off a 5.13a grade rock climbing route, she is the rock star co-founder of Skimble (which is incubated by Rock Health), and you can find her rock formation photography featured in Outside Magazine.

  • March 13, 1988 was the day we moved to America. Although it wasn't my first time in the country, that date was the beginning of my journey through the American school system. Those eleven years filled me with a lifetime of great memories.

  • Mayank is an inventor and zebra-enthusiast. He developed Stripespotter, a biological barcode scanner for zebras, and is a part of the team behind Facebook insights. By way of India to Oman to the US, Mayank can be found behind the wheel of a red Porsche dreaming up his next big idea.
