The International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT Bhubaneswar) was established in the city of Bhubaneswar in Orissa in 2007. It is partly funded by the government of Orissa, and partly self-financed. The institute has a 100-acre (0.40 km) campus close to the new Infocity-II area in the city, where several IT companies are building new offices. It started operating in September 2007, with a small initial intake of 25 students in M.Tech(Computer Science and Engineering) . iiit bhubaneswar is a future project of govt of orissa and it imparts m.tech degree progg on computer science and it,, empowered with some great faculty strength and modern amunities it is a very good learning environment for the grooming buddy engineers IIIT Bhubaneswar owes its origins to the initiative of the Government Orissa. It is a result of the desire of the Government to establish a world class institute of Information Technology in the state. The Institute has been registered as a society in 2006. The Management of the institute is in the hands of a Governing Board, consisting of representatives from the Government of Orissa, Leaders from the IT industry and eminent educationists.
