Johnston Community College

Johnston Community College (JCC) is a public, two-year post-secondary college located at 245 College Road, Smithfield, North Carolina. JCC is located thirty miles east of Raleigh, near the junction of I-95 and US 70. The 175-acre (0.71 km) main campus boasts numerous buildings, a 16-acre (65,000 m) arboretum, and ponds. Johnston Community College has off-campus centers throughout the county, including the Cleveland Center, the Workforce Development Center, and the Howell Woods Environmental Learning Center, a 2,800-acre (11 km) wildlife preserve, and a teaching facility. Johnston Community College is a member of the North Carolina Community College System and is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the certificate, diploma, and associate degree. At Johnston Community College, students apply and are admitted to programs of study. JCC offers curriculum programs in: Continuing education programs are offered where there is community need and interest.

  • Maria Ly is quite literally a Rock Star. You’ll often find her hanging off a 5.13a grade rock climbing route, she is the rock star co-founder of Skimble (which is incubated by Rock Health), and you can find her rock formation photography featured in Outside Magazine.

  • March 13, 1988 was the day we moved to America. Although it wasn't my first time in the country, that date was the beginning of my journey through the American school system. Those eleven years filled me with a lifetime of great memories.
