Keene State College

Keene State College is a liberal arts college in Keene, New Hampshire. It is a member of the University System of New Hampshire and of the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges. Founded in 1909 as a teacher's college (originally, Keene Normal School; later, Keene Teachers College), Keene State College has around 5,400 students. Keene's ten largest academic programs, according to the Keene page of the USNH website, are English, Psychology, Art (including Graphic Design), Biology, History, Computer Science, Music, Management, Sociology and Mathematics. Keene State College offers nearly 40 majors in the liberal arts and sciences, professional programs, and selected graduate degrees. According to the KSC Course Catalog other notable majors include Architecture, Education, Environmental Studies, Film Studies, Communication, Journalism, and Theater & Dance. Keene's Factbook 2010-2011 [www.keene.edu/ir/factbook2010.pdf] reports that Film Studies and Communication are even more popular majors than in years past. The Education major at Keene State College is a respected teacher education program. The college hosts major annual seminars in children's literature.

  • Maria Ly is quite literally a Rock Star. You’ll often find her hanging off a 5.13a grade rock climbing route, she is the rock star co-founder of Skimble (which is incubated by Rock Health), and you can find her rock formation photography featured in Outside Magazine.

  • March 13, 1988 was the day we moved to America. Although it wasn't my first time in the country, that date was the beginning of my journey through the American school system. Those eleven years filled me with a lifetime of great memories.
