Rajasthan Technical University (RTU) is a university located in Kota in the state of Rajasthan, India. The university was established in 2006. Formerly it was Engineering College, Kota. The Rajasthan Technical University, commonly referred to as RTU, is a public state university located in Kota, Rajasthan. The university primarily provides programs in multidisciplinary fields like science, technology and management. Funded by the Government of Rajasthan, the RTU is set to become a "Center of Excellence" in multidisciplinary science and technology areas of topical importance, in studies and research, in addition to providing adequate facilities for the pursuit of degree and advanced-level course in management and other professional areas through its affiliated institutions. The University has been accorded the affiliating University status with its jurisdiction encompassing the entire state of Rajasthan. Rajasthan Technical University was setup in 2006 by the Govt. of Rajasthan to enhance technical education in Rajasthan. The university is situated on Kota-Rawatbhata Road, about 10 Km from Kota Bus Stand and 14 Kms from Kota Railway Station.
