Saint Columban College is a leading Catholic private educational institution run by the Diocese of Pagadian, founded by the Missionary Society of St. Columban (MSSC) in consortium with the Sisters of St. Paul de Chartes (SPC). It is the Diocesan Schools Group of Pagadian's flagship school, the only tertiary school among the 4 members and one of the largest schools in the Zamboanga Peninsula region. Saint Columban College was established in 1957 by Fr. Sean Nolan of the Missionary Society of St. Columban together with Sr. Teresita del Niño Jesus Reyes, Sr. Isabel of the Angels Narciso, Sr. Marie Odille Cayetano and Sr. Anne Bacomo of the Sisters of Saint Paul de Chartres, a Paulist congregation, as a high school academic community under the name, Saint Columban School. The school was in full operation after a year under its director, Fr. Patrick Campion, MSSC. A few years later, it began to offer its first four collegiate courses: Liberal Arts, Education, Secretarial, and Commerce.
