The Soma Institute is located in downtown Chicago, Illinois. The Soma Institute trains students to become licensed massage therapists and prepares students to sit for the massage therapy certification exam after program completion. The school provides students with massage therapy training, including trigger point therapy, Myofascial release, neuromuscular techniques, Swedish massage techniques, hydrotherapy and sports massage. The Soma Institute combines course work with an internship and externship to provide a 750-hour clinical massage therapy program to educate its students for careers in the clinical massage therapy profession. The school received approval from the Illinois State Board of Education in 1998, and is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education & Training. - Clinical Massage Therapy - students receive a diploma after a 750-hour course in clinical massage therapy. - Master Clinical Massage Therapy - students receive a diploma after a 300 clock-hour program that results in a specialty clinical massage therapy practice.
