Uganda Pentecostal University (UPU), is a private university in Uganda. The main campus of the university is located in the town of Fort Portal, Kabarole District, in Western Uganda, approximately 320 kilometres (200 mi), by road, west of Kampala, Uganda's capital city. The location is approximately 1 kilometre (0.62 mi), by road, west of Fort Portal town center on the road to Bwamba. The coordinates of the main campus are:00 39 36N, 30 15 58E (Latitude:0.6600; Longitude:30.2660). The university maintains a smaller campus at Mengo, Lubaga Division, in Kampala, the capital of Uganda and the largest city in that country. According to the university's website, the institution has three other campuses that are yet to be utilised; one each in the towns of Mbarara in Western Uganda, Masaka and Mubende in Central Uganda. The university started operating in 2001 as the Grotius School of Law and Professional Studies , with a campus in Mengo, a neighborhood within Kampala, Uganda's capital city. The school initially operated as part of another university.
