Maria Ly is quite literally a Rock Star. You’ll often find her hanging off a 5.13a grade rock climbing route, she is the rock star co-founder of Skimble (which is incubated by Rock Health), and you can find her rock formation photography featured in Outside Magazine.

The University of Melbourne
Melbourne is the cultural capital of Australia, classified as a City of Literature by UNESCO’s Creative Cities Network and has three times shared top positions as one of The Economist’s World’s Most Livable Cities. It’s no surprise, then, that student life at the University of Melbourne is as vivid, creative, and diverse. The University of Melbourne Student Union has a great number of resources for student activities and facilitates the university’s impressive range of student clubs. If you’re into sport, MU offers 39 associations, including tennis, cricket, Australian rules football, rugby, hockey, cycling, and more.
International students can be found living both on- and off-campus, as well as in many of Melbourne’s eclectic neighborhoods, but it’s always best to get housing somewhere close to the University, as the higher rents in these areas are made up for by the decrease in large amounts of time/cash spent on transit. Many international students prefer to house with the local students, as they’re more than happy to include you in the “native” traditions, such as Prosh Week (think: giant boat races, conga lines, jelly wrestling, and alcohol).
As the largest university in Victoria, The University of Melbourne (est. 1853) is ranked among the top universities in Australia and the world. Offering bachelor, master and doctorate degrees, University of Melbourne leads Australian universities in Business, Education, Engineering, Arts, Law, and Medicine. Its main library is huge, set in the middle of the modern, sky-scraper dominated city of Melbourne. The University of Melbourne has over 10 other libraries serving its faculties and associated students.

March 13, 1988 was the day we moved to America. Although it wasn't my first time in the country, that date was the beginning of my journey through the American school system. Those eleven years filled me with a lifetime of great memories.
