Sorbonne University, is well known internationally for its academics with literally hundreds of experts in their respective fields.  Lectures are said to enlighten pupils at the level of some of the best Ted Talks. Studies at Sorbonne are focused solely in the Humanities, offering undergraduate, masters, and doctorate programs in French and Comparative Literature, Languages, Philosophy and Sociology, Music, Art, Urban Development and more. All classes are taught in French. 

Sorbonne University offers a limited amount of accomadation for foreign students at the Cité Internationale Universitaire Paris (CIUP) and offers a list of student accommodation services for those that do not get a room at CIUP.

As for practical advice: find fellow international students at the cafés near the Sorbonne, locate the pubs that offer free drinks to the international student populous, get your groceries at Leader Price if you’re strapped for cash, buy the Carte Imagine-RL for the Métro, and plan on taking an intensive French language program if you are not already fluent in the language.
