The University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering, popularly known as UVCE, is an engineering college affiliated to Bangalore University, located in Bangalore, India. The college was established in 1917, by Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya. The college is approved by the AICTE and the Government of Karnataka. The departments are accredited with five A+ for three years by the National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi. UVCE is ranked 24th in Best Engineering colleges in India as per survey conducted by India Today and Nielsen companyfor the year 2011. The admission of students to the undergraduate courses is on the basis of merit through the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the state government. The entrance to post-graduate courses is through the Degree, GATE and entrance test results. Every year, nearly 450 students graduate at the under-graduate level from five disciplines.
