West Shore Community College offers a broad general education curricula designed to meet the needs of students interested in occupational programs leading to immediate employment and students wishing to transfer to a senior institution. We are one of America’s premier community colleges, driven by a passion for assuring student success, serving our entire community, and pursuing greatness. •In 1967 West Shore was established on 365 acres (1.48 km) between Ludington and Manistee. •In 2002, 18,000 sq ft (1,700 m). state-of-the-art science wing was added to the Arts and Sciences Center. Also in 2002 West Shore Community opened a 36,000 sq ft (3,300 m). Ice Arena. •In 2006, Manistee County Education Center, a partnership between the college and West Shore Medical Center, opened in Manistee. •In 2008, a 38,000 sq ft (3,500 m). new Shoenherr Campus Center opened for students. •As of right now West Shore is renovating the Arts and Science Center; this will unify the performing and visual arts in one location and also includes the remodeling of the former library into space for art and music programs.
